Palgrave Macmillan has carefully considered its position on permitting
authors to archive their contributions to Palgrave Macmillan products
either via their own website or via their institution's or funding
body's on-line repository/archive. We have taken the view that the
impact of such activity will vary between types of publication and have
therefore set different terms and conditions for each of the following
types of publication:
Monographs
It will be necessary for authors to seek permission to post material from a monograph. Such permission will be granted subject to the conditions below and a form of acknowledgement which will be provided. Applications should be made to The Permissions Manager at rights@palgrave.com giving at least 4 weeks notice.
Authors may post their version of their pre-copyedited contribution or an extract from their pre-copyedited contribution. However no more than 10% of the total work will be permitted to be posted to institutional or funding body repositories/archives. Please note that in some cases an embargo period may be applied.
Textbooks
It will be necessary for authors to seek permission to post material from a textbook.
However no more than 5% of the total work will be permitted to be posted to institutional or funding body repositories/archives. Please note that in some cases an embargo period may be applied.
Reference Works
Contributions to Reference works may be posted to publicly accessible websites or institutional repositories/archives only at our discretion, please apply to the Permissions Manager at rights@palgrave.com giving at least 4 weeks notice.
In
the event that Palgrave Macmillan determines that any item posted

business, they shall be entitled to request that it is immediately
removed.
