All Palgrave Macmillan titles are distributed through our distribution company, Macmillan Distribution Ltd. There are five principal methods that booksellers and wholesalers can use to order Palgrave Macmillan titles, as listed below.

N.B. Booksellers in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore should contact their local supplier and distributor for ordering purposes (as listed under Addresses Worldwide in Contact Us).

Five Ways of Ordering Palgrave Macmillan Titles

1. PubEasy: Account holding customers can use PubEasy, the Online Ordering & Enquiry System, to fulfil their ordering requirements. Click here for further information about this service.

2. TeleOrdering: Palgrave Macmillan is a firm supporter of the TeleOrdering system for booksellers and wholesalers.

3. EDI and BUYLINE: Palgrave Macmillan is committed to the development of leading EDI techniques and as such we can also receive orders by BUYLINE or EDI and send back valuable information via EDI in the form of acknowledgements, delivery notes and invoices.

4. E-mail, Fax, Telephone or Post: You may send your order for processing via e-mail, fax, telephone or post. Please quote the reference NET in all correspondence and remember to include:

  • Your Name
  • Account Details
  • Delivery Address
  • Author, Title & ISBN
  • Quantity

Standing Order Service for Series

Palgrave Macmillan are able to offer you a Series Standing Order Service. This means that by placing an order you can automatically receive all new books published in a series without having to reorder.

Placing a Series Standing Order

To record a Standing Order you simply place an order via our Sales or Customer Service departments using the relevant Standing Order ISBN, exactly as you would if you were ordering any other book.

Returns Policy

In the UK, Europe and Republic of Ireland Palgrave Macmillan offer an Open Returns Policy. This policy ensures that returns do not need to be authorised by our representatives or head office. Fulfilling the simple parameters described below is all that is required.

To ensure effective and timely processing of returns, an essential part of the service is the "pre-booking" procedure also detailed below. It is important that you comply with this carefully.

Pre-Booking Procedure
  1. Send returns request to:

  2. Requests must contain details of: ISBN, Quantity, Author, Title and, if available, original Invoice Number.
  3. Within four working days we will send you a self addressed, bar-coded returns label for all items, according to the general conditions set out below.
  4. The labels must be attached to the parcels as the credit note will be immediately generated by swiping the bar codes.

The following industry standard conditions apply:

  1. That they are Palgrave Macmillan or Macmillan Online Publishing titles. (Titles published under the imprints Palgrave Macmillan, Macmillan Press, W H Freeman, Worth, Sinauer Associates, University Science Books, Scientific American Medicine Books and the Mona Group). N.B. It does not apply to Macmillan General Books e.g. Pan, Picador, Boxtree or Macmillan Education.
  2. Returns will not be accepted until three months from date of invoice.
  3. Titles stocked for longer than 15 months from dispatch date will not be accepted.
  4. That books are in good condition and, where applicable, in the original packaging.
  5. That we have a record of supply.
  6. That the return request does not exceed supply.
  7. That titles are still be in print.
  8. That old editions are within twelve months of publication of current edition.
  9. That books are not part of special arrangements e.g. firm sale, pre-agreed limits etc.

All return carriage costs to be borne by the customer, except as below;

  • Defective Books/Damaged in Transit: Please submit these separately within 7 days of receipt. Dispatch instructions will be sent as we will absorb carriage costs.
  • Incorrect Shipment: Please notify us of the error within 7 working days of receipt. Carriage costs will be borne by MDL for returns or replacement for any error attributable to MDL.

Returns received in unsaleable condition may be re-charged and held for collection for 28 days after which they may be destroyed.
