How this book will help you learn

The book is clearly structured and organised so that you can navigate easily between sections. (Click here to find out more about the book’s structure.)

Each chapter follows a logical format, first setting out what you will learn and what it covers, then offering an engaging introduction which relates the subject to the real world.

In each chapter you will find a range of features to help you understand the subject and bring it to life. For example …

  • Stop and reflect questions are placed at regular intervals to help you relate what you are learning to your own experience, and to find out about the broader consequences of human actions and processes on the behaviour of people at work
  • OB in focus boxes highlight interesting developments, practices, applications and issues in OB and give extra insight into special issues
  • Critical insight boxes point you towards key writings on the subject
  • Graphic exhibits tables and photos help explain key concepts
  • OB web links

At the end of each chapter you will find a handy chapter summary (invaluable for revision!), as well as a list of key concepts. The chapter review questions enable you to check your understanding and the case study, web-based assignment and further reading sections give you the opportunity to broaden your knowledge and see how what you have learned can apply to real situations.

And finally, each chapter closes with a feature called OB in film, which invites you to watch a popular film and think about how it relates to the subject – both entertaining and illuminating!
