Boeing
Boeing seem to have had something of a torrid time with these initiatives. Having invested some $100 million in ‘new start’ activity between 2000 and 2004, they succeeded in creating only two new companies – the two mentioned in the text - valued at some $1 million. Understandably, the company does not want to publicise the failure of these initiatives, so it is difficult to find out the reasons for their failure.
