About Public Sector Economics

Richard Tresch’s Public Sector Economics is an innovative new concept for the undergraduate public finance course.  It is published in two parts:

  • The book, which contains a clear and coherent exposition of the theory of the public sector with selected examples
  • This companion website, which complements the book’s coverage with an extensive public sector example bank as well as a wealth of other useful tools to support learning

In this way, students benefit from a readable, concise, and penetrating treatment of public sector theory in the book, which they can apply using a range of online examples that are kept fresh and relevant.

The book

The companion website

  • The example bank offers a broad international selection of in-depth examples to show how the theory in the book can be applied in a local and global real world context
  • The instructor and student zones provide invaluable support materials including chapter summaries and lecture notes
