P.E. Caquet is a senior member of Hughes Hall, University of Cambridge, UK. A historian of nineteenth and twentieth-century international relations, his publications examine the roles of culture, ideology, and religion in diplomacy, highlighting the impact of ideas on international events. His work includes articles such as ‘Notions of Addiction in the Time of the Opium War’ (The Historical Journal, 2015) and ‘The Napoleonic Legend and the War Scare of 1840’ (International History Review, 2013)
