At the recent IAME conference in Hamburg, Germany, the winner of the Maritime Economics and Logistics Best PhD Thesis Award (2013-2016), supported by Palgrave Macmillan, was announced as Jason Angelopoulos (University of Piraeus, Greece) for his thesis entitled ‘Creating and Assessing Composite Indicators: Dynamic Applications for the Port Industry and Seaborne Trade’. Both Palgrave and MEL’s Editor offer our warmest congratulations to Jason for his excellent work and we look forward to publishing his adapted paper in the opening issue of the 2017 volume of MEL.

Look out for its appearance on our Online First page prior to it publishing in the issue!
