Access to our publications for those with a reading impairment

We are very happy to support access to our publications for those with a reading impairment.

Please locate the product you require on our website and complete a permission request form. We will then provide a license and the files.
More details on the electronic formats we can provide.

In order to prevent file sharing and piracy, we only supply files to named members of staff at the user’s educational institution.

Please note that we do not require the reading impaired customer to purchase a printed copy of the book, but we may make a charge for the files (which is equivalent to the cheapest bound edition available) if the institution does not own any copies of the work.

We also supply files to Load2Learn which is a joint service delivered by Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) with Dyslexia Action. Load2Learn provides accessible curriculum resources to support learners who cannot use standard print materials, particularly those with dyslexia or who are blind or partially sighted.

Institutions can register to access these materials. You may find the title you require is already available from Load2Learn by searching or browsing their website.

We are committed to working alongside the Publishers Association with government, educational institutions and charitable bodies, to try and bring about a significant improvement in the availability of accessible formats for the reading impaired.

If you haven’t already visited www.publisherlookup.org.uk please do so. You can use the site to look contact details for any publisher from whom you might need to source electronic files, and find out what information you need to supply.

Palgrave wishes to thank Jisc TechDis for their valuable recommendations on many aspects of our accessibility workflows and policies.

We would appreciate any feedback on your experiences of requesting publications in accessible electronic feedback. Please send us any comments on our feedback form.
