How do I place an order online?

You can use our online ordering service for the purposes of requesting a title for purchase or inspection.

Having first selected your title(s), add the title(s) to your shopping basket by clicking on 'Order Title'. You can access your shopping basket at any point from the menu at the top of the screen. The shopping basket will contain a list of the title details (Title, author, ISBN, price). You can alter the quantity at this point.

On clicking on 'Proceed to checkout' you will need to login using your username and password (if you have any items previously in your shopping basket these will be offered to you at this point and you can add these also). Delivery and discount options will be available after you have logged in.

After you have filled in the order form your details will be transmitted to Palgrave Macmillan via our secure online ordering facility and your title(s) will be processed for despatch within 24 hours.

Please note:
ICS orders are subject to authorization by your local representative and will be rejected if we feel that they are inappropriate.
Requests from the USA, Australia and New Zealand will be passed on to relevant sister companies.



How do I place an order offline?

As an alternative to ordering online you may send your order for processing via e-mail, fax, telephone or post using the contact details below. Please remember to include:
  Your Name
  Delivery Address
  Author, Title and ISBN
  Quantity
Payment Details (where appropriate)
- A UK Pound Sterling cheque or postal order payable to 'Palgrave Macmillan Ltd'
- Please DO NOT include Credit details in an email. Please call the number below or include contact details so that we may contact you.

You may wish to print off the Offline Purchase or Offline Inspection Copy Order Forms provided and fill in your details and order requests accordingly. All correspondence should be directed to:

How do I place an order using a discount code?

You will be offered the facility to enter a discount code after you have logged in.

Enter the discount code in the relevant box (please be aware that discount codes are case sensitive). Click the update button to apply the discount.

Any discount applied will appear on your screen- if you hover your mouse over the discounted price the name of the discount will appear.

The shopping basket will remember any codes you have entered on previous visits and will apply them automatically if applicable.
Please note that discount codes do not apply to all titles.



I am a Palgrave Author- how do I get my discount?

If you are an author and are entitled to a discount, your status is automatically recognised by the site when you log in with your account details. The discounted price will automatically be shown on the product pages and applied in the shopping basket. You do not need to enter a discount code in the shopping basket.

Please contact authors@palgrave.com should your discount not be applied automatically.



I am a Premium Bookclub Member, how do I get my discount?

If you are a Premium Bookclub Member and are entitled to a discount, your status is automatically recognised by the site when you log in with your account details. The discounted price will automatically be shown on the product pages for books that are included in the Premium Books list and applied in the shopping basket. You do not need to enter a discount code in the shopping basket.

Please contact orders@palgrave.com should your discount not be applied automatically.



What is an inspection copy?

Some Palgrave Macmillan textbooks are available on inspection across a range of subjects. Inspection copies are only available to teaching staff for consideration for adoption as a course text, and may only be requested where adoption would result in the sales of at least 12 copies of the text to students on the course/Module.

Palgrave Macmillan require that the details of the course for which you are considering the text is supplied to us as part of the request for a copy. Once you have assessed the suitability of the text we request that you complete a questionnaire about your use of the text. This questionnaire is available online via your My Palgrave Account. No charge is made for Inspection Copies.

How do I place an order for an inspection copy?

Having first selected your title(s) , add to your shopping basket by clicking on 'Add ICS to basket' or by clicking on 'Add to basket'. and selecting 'Inspection' on the order page. You will be prompted for information about the course(s) you are considering the title(s) for.

Please note: ICS orders are subject to authorization by your local representative and will be rejected if we feel that they are inappropriate.

On receipt of your inspection copy we would be very grateful if you would complete a questionnaire for each title retained without payment. You may use the questionnaire enclosed with your inspection copy or simply fill in the online Inspection Copy Questionnaire provided. (Please note you must login to access)

Requests from the USA, Australia and New Zealand will be passed on to relevant sister companies.

I am trying to order an Inspection Copy on line but there is only the option for Purchase

Not all books are available to order as part of the Inspection Copy Service. Those that are available will be shown with an 'order inspection copy' option on the catalogue page.

Requests for Inspection Copies for titles that do not show this option are dealt with on a case-by-case basis; please contact lecturerservices@palgrave.com.



How do I place an order for an review copy?

Review copies are available to bona fide review editors and reviewers. Copies will be sent entirely at the publisher's discretion to relevant and recognised publications. If you would like to order a review copy or you have any queries about the Palgrave Macmillan Review Copy service please email reviews@palgrave.com.

How can I pay for my order?

Palgrave Macmillan accept the following credit cards: VISA, American Express, and Mastercard,. Alternatively, if you do not wish to pay by Credit Card we can accept an order only if accompanied by a UK Pounds Sterling cheque or postal order and made payable to 'Palgrave Macmillan Ltd'. What currency are the prices quoted in?

All prices on the Palgrave Macmillan web site are quoted in UK Pounds Sterling.



How secure are my credit card details?

How secure are my credit card details? Palgrave Macmillan and Macmillan Publishers use RBS WorldPay, the payment processing business of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group, to process your card payments. Your credit card number itself will not be stored on any of our systems.

Your credit card will not be charged until the despatch of goods from our warehouse. As part of the order process we have required that you to tick a box to say that you understand that you may be charged at a later date as goods may not be in stock at the time of ordering and payment may then be claimed from your card later.



How much do I pay for postage & packing?

Postage and packing charges are calculated according to the delivery destination and the value of the order. Full details of our delivery charges are shown below and are subject to change without notice:

Standard Delivery charges
UK orders under 40 - 2.00 p&p
UK orders over 40 - 3.00 p&p

Overseas orders under 40 - 4.00 p&p
Overseas orders over 40 - 10% of order value

Courier Delivery charges
UK orders - 5.00 p&p

Overseas orders under 100 - 10.00 p&p
Overseas orders over 100 - 10% of order value



How long does an order take to be delivered?

Palgrave Macmillan prioritises all orders placed online and processes them within 24 hours of receipt.
Once despatched, delivery should take between 5-15 working days, depending on the delivery destination and method. You can specify Courier delivery at the time of ordering.

For MAIL DELIVERY the UK Post Office quotes Air Mail delivery times for Western Europe of 3-5 working days, for North America 7-10 days and the rest of the World 10-15 working days. We have noticed that mail delivery to Western Europe is taking up to 15-25 days and delivery to North America up to 6 weeks. Delivery to other destinations has been taking 3-4 weeks. Please note that these delivery times are estimated and mail delivery is not trackable. These delivery times are outside of our control, so if you would like your order to be delivered more quickly please contact us directly at orders@palgrave.com for more details.



How is my order delivered?

Standard delivery orders will usually be despatched by Royal Mail. There is no tracking on this method. Should the courier option be selected then delivery will be made via our nominated carrier. The courier used is determined according to the country of destination.

Delivery for Inspection copies is free. The Courier option is not available for Inspection copies.



Who pays for local duties?

Please note that Palgrave Macmillan cannot be responsible for any local duties and taxes payable.



I am VAT registered, how to I avoid paying VAT?

If you are purchasing a Vatable item, you will be offered the opportunity to insert your VAT number on the screen. Members of the EC who are VAT or tax registered will not be charged this VAT if a VAT or tax registration is supplied below. There is the opportunity to validate this VAT number.



How do I track the progress of my order once it has been sent?
