Perspectives on the English Language is an innovative series of textbooks for the English language student, together forming a wide-ranging course for undergraduate students of English. The basis of the series is a 'core' of three books which together form a system of information about the English language to which any graduate in English (including those largely focusing on literature) should have access. Each book can be used flexibly, providing accessible and engaging starting-points, and building the foundations for further study.
