New Casebooks
Series Editors: John Peck and Martin Coyle
Recent years have seen a number of exciting
developments in both the theory and practice of literary criticism. The
purpose of this new series of Casebooks
is to reveal how these developments have challenged and changed our
understanding of commonly studied texts and authors. The New
Casebooks complement their parallel volumes in the Casebooks
series; there is no overlap of material between sister volumes.
Each New Casebook consists of
a sequence of carefully chosen essays and extracts dealing with the
central critical issues raised by the text or texts being studied and
which illustrate some of the more striking features of the new critical
thinking. Additional features of each volume are the substantial
Introduction which discusses the critical implications of the essays and
the annotated Further Reading section with its suggestions for further
study.
