Organizations face a seismic shift in the world order, which will take us into uncharted territory. A world crafted primarily by the US is now fading; in its place an untested multipolar world, designed by new architects is emerging. Steering organizations through this period of transition will be the greatest challenge for business leaders this century. Dr. Robert Davies critically explores research and thinking, and provides readers with new tools that address the four central questions that every business leader must answer:

• Who are the new global architects?
• What partnerships could they form to reshape our world?
• How will these partnerships influence the global business environment?
• Do we face a peaceful or fractious, conflict-ridden transition to a new world?

Critically, The Era of Global Transition provides a framework that helps readers and companies to develop a new strategy that will help their organizations face an unexplored world.

ROBERT DAVIES is a visionary strategic advisor supporting business leaders and their organizations in the fields of foresight, strategy and change. He is a Senior Visiting Fellow at Cass Business School, London, with expertise in international relations, innovation and change management. He has the talent to help business leaders unravel the implications of an unprecedented shift
in the balance of global power and influence. He earned his PhD at Cass examining how leaders turned mature organizations into innovative operations during the recession of the early 1990s. Dr Davies also teaches the MBA and MA programmes at Cass Business School and City University. He enjoys working with managers and staff at all levels in organizations, particularly the business leaders of tomorrow. He has the ability to turn complex academic research and thought into tools and techniques that can be readily applied by both his clients and students.

"In a world of continual change and upheaval, the greatest value that a book such as this can provide to a reader is to challenge conventional wisdom and provide a basis to develop new thinking. Robert Davies has done this. Read this book and you'll think differently about the world afterwards."—Professor Scott Moeller, Director, M&A Research Centre, Cass Business School
"Dr. Davies gives us a thought-provoking look at the world's emerging economic, political and social structures that challenges popular assumptions and traditional views about the shape of our future world and the paths we may take to get there. This book will change the way you think about how the world works. A must-read for leaders looking to steer global organizations through the uncertainty of a world in transition."—Steven Spano, President, Generali UK
"Robert Davies provokes the reader in a manner that no business thinker has succeeded in doing since Michael Porter revolutionised our understanding of competitive strategy. After reading this book, the jigsaw pieces of the new world order that include the Euro Crisis, nationalism, religion and secularism will lock together to build a route map to the future."—Sam Kingston, Managing Director T-Systems
