They made a name for themselves working for individuals and companies mired in scandal, from Lance Armstrong on the comeback trail to Goldman Sachs in the wake of the financial crisis. Previously, they worked for the Clinton White House where they were called Masters of Disaster by Newsweek magazine for their part in a 'rapid-response' team employed by to respond to the increasing number of investigations of the Clinton Administration. Both authors were previously Deputy Campaign Manager for Al Gore's presidential campaign in 2000 and Special Counsel to the President during the Clinton administration.
