Authors

PETER H. RAVEN is Director of the Missouri Botanical Garden, USA and one of the world's leading botanists and advocates of conservation. He received his PHD from University of California, Los Angeles after graduating form the University of California Berkeley, USA. In December 2001, the President of the USA awarded him the National Medal of Science, the highest award for scientific accomplishment in the country.

RAY F. EVERT is Katherine Esau Professor of Botany and Plant Pathology at the University of Wisconsin. His research interests include studies on the development and structure of the leaves of maize and barley.

SUSAN E. EICHHORN is Resident Programme Manager at the University of Wisconsin, USA
