Palgrave Macmillan bespoke catalogue download facility

Create your own tailored catalogue in excel, xml or pdf immediately ! Perform complex searches to find a list of desired titles on the Palgrave website. Once you have the list you want, simply click on the ‘Export Search Results’ button above the search results to produce an instant catalogue in MS Excel for all the titles in the list. The file generated contains all key title information and you can select whether or not you want jackets included. This facility is perfect for producing an up to date catalogue of anything you might want e.g. titles published between certain dates, books published by a certain author or in a particular series or subject area and so on. Once you have the file this can be used to alert customers and lecturers to key books or series, to download on to title databases with no further re-keying, to create order forms… the list of uses is long! However, the best way to use it is to try it! Be as creative as you wish!

Search

Use the search bar above to search on keyword, ISBN, author name or title or navigate to Advanced Search under the Browse/Search tab above or click here . Select the parameters you wish to search on e.g. Author, Publication Dates etc and click SEARCH.

TIP: If you type in a KEYWORD, this will search Title, Subtitle, Description, Table of Contents and Author Affiliation.

ISBN string search:

Enter or copy and paste any selection of ISBNS from any of the following imprints: Palgrave Macmillan UK (not USA), W H Freeman, Worth, Sinauer or University Science Books. Click on SEARCH and this will return Bibliographic data for the ISBN's listed.

TIP: ISBNs must be in text format and must NOT contain hyphens or the search will fail.


Additional feature for ISBN string search:

Example: Copy and paste all the information of the titles and ISBNs listed below into the ISBN box in advanced search. Click on FORMAT (bottom right corner of the ISBN box). You should now see only ISBNs. Click on SEARCH and this will return Bibliographic data for the ISBN's listed

Subject search

Select the Subject (macro code) you are interested in e.g. Business, Management & Finance. You will then be offered a selection of Micro-Categories (micro codes) code e.g. Marketing

Note: The subjects are held in Main Subject Category (Palgrave Macro code) and Micro-Category (Palgrave Micro code).



Browse

navigate to Browse under the Browse/Search tab above or click here. Any search using the browse functions can also be downloaded.



Downloading the results:



1) Once you have your list of titles which you want to download, click on the button titled 'Export Search Results' above the search results.
2) Select from the download options i.e. with (default) or without Images or autofilter on or off (default).
3) Click on one of the Generate buttons, excel, xml or pdf to generate the document. This can take a few minutes.
4) Once spreadsheet, xml file or pdf file is on your screen select Save As, give it a name and save to your hard drive. Close your browser.
5) Open Excel, and open saved xls file. You can now edit, review, re-sort, add or delete columns. If you saved a PDF then use Adobe PDF reader, XML files can be viewed using a text editor or a browser.

Note: If using Excel prior to Version 2000, images will not sort. If deleting complete rows, delete image first, then the row.
