Welcome to the companion website for

Global Sociology

by Robin Cohen and Paul Kennedy (about the authors)

This resource site has been designed to provide support and extension activities for lecturers using this text and looking to organise their teaching around the book.

The second edition of a ground-breaking text, Global Sociology will be compulsory for introductory sociology courses taking truly global perspective. Building on the success of the ambitious first edition, the book retains and defends its innovative focus and approach. Extensively updated in the light of the most recent debates about globalization, particularly in the post 9/11 climate, this new edition also includes three wholly new chapters on Health and the Body, Sport and Lifestyle and Global Religions, and substantial further pedagogical features. Changes, both in the public and academic sphere, that make this new edition highly important to the teaching of sociology today.

The site is divided into two areas, for the lecturer and student. All Palgrave Macmillan Companion Websites have free access, but some sections of the lecturer zone are designated for exclusive use by adopters of the text and are therefore password-protected; all users are invited to explore all other areas of the site as they please.

We envisage this site to be used in tandem with the textbook to create and deliver a complete teaching package for yourselves and your students.
