The Personal Tutor guides you through hundreds of practice questions with instant feedback. It includes all the odd-numbered questions from the book, for you to work through in a step-by-step fashion with Hints and Fully worked solutions for support.
The program is delivered online and also comes on a CD-ROM with the book to allow you to work offline. Apart from their delivery method, both programs are identical.
| Using the Personal Tutor CD-ROM with Internet Explorer 8
If you are using the Personal Tutor on the CD-ROM and your browser is Internet Explorer 8 you will need to update your copy of the Personal Tutor. In order to do this you need to carry out the following step-by-step instructions: 1- Create a folder somewhere on your computer and copy the entire contents of the CD-ROM in to this folder. You can give the folder whatever name you want and place it where you want on the hard drive. If you are already running the Personal Tutor from your hard drive then skip this step. 2- Download the zip file StroudUpdate_20090726.zip. Unpack this zip file and copy the contents (three files) into the 'sys' folder in the Personal Tutor folder you created. 3- Start the Personal Tutor by double clicking on PersonalTutor.htm. You can also add the application to the launch bar by selecting the file in Windows Explorer, holding down the Ctrl key and dragging the file onto the launch bar. The Personal Tutor should now start and run correctly in Internet Explorer 8. Users of other versions of Internet Explorer or of other browsers do not need this update, but updating will not affect your system. |
