About this book

Divorce leads to serious long-term economic problems for women with children. This book looks at the strategies women have developed for coping with these problems, in putting together an income package from earnings, maintenance and welfare. Recent research from America, France and the UK is reported describing the very different approaches in these countries, and how women are relying to different degrees on the labour market, the remarriage market and the public purse.
