About this book

In recent years local government staff working in housing have been subject to a welter of legislation, financial cuts and increased expectations on the part of their clients. Research in the field has shown that, although in many respects local authorities and housing associations are adapting to necessary changes, there is still much room for improvement. The management of change and the realignment of housing practice form the subject matter of this book. The contributors, all of whom are practitioners or practitioners turned academic, discuss how this might be done. To this end, the role and work of staff at all levels are examined.
