About this book
Intended for undergraduate and equivalent students of computing, as well as practitioners new to the field, this book sets out to give an insight into the Structured Systems Analysis and Design Method (SSADM). The text is based on Version 4 of SSADM which clearly separates the project management responsibilities from the systems analysis and design activities, and attention is focused on the tools and techniques for analysis and design. The key feature of the authors' approach is the use throughout the text of a case study to explain and illustrate the use of the techniques and the documentation in a realistic context. This case study concerns the reservations booking requirements for a chain of hotels. To enhance the book's value in a teaching context, a full set of SSADM documentation for the booking system is provided in various appendices.
