About this book
This book explains the fundamentals of structural analysis, materials and design. By adopting an integrated approach, the author aims to increase the reader's motivation since the relevance of the theory is made clear at an early stage by applying the principles of structural analysis and design to realistic examples.
In this revised second edition the text has been revised and updated to be compatible with the new Eurocodes relating to the use of concrete, steel and timber. To enhance the book's value as a self-study text new end of chapter summaries have been added; these include key concepts and formulae.
Each chapter now concludes with a selection of exercises for the reader to solve; answers to all numerical questions are provided.
