About this book

In this new book Peter Wickens gets to the very core of what makes a successful and dynamic enterprise. Building upon his earlier work in, The Ascendant Organisation and slaying a number of business fads and sacred cows along the way, he shows how to energise the enterprise in key areas such as leadership, teamworking and innovation. With the use of many examples and cases and building upon considerable experience he shows the way forward for companies to achieve a sense of purpose and to energise their organisations. If you are tired of the latest business fad then this will be the book for you.

Reviews

'Brilliant! The questioning of conventional wisdom and the original thinking of Energise Your Enterprise has had a profound effect on me. On top of this, its sheer practicality will ensure that we can respond positively to its many ideas and challenges.' - Reg Hankey, Managing Director, Pittards plc

'Peter Wickens has that rare if not unique mixture of having done it, the ability to think about it and to explain it. A book with the ideas to help us change our businesses, and the guidance on how to implement and measure progress.' - Sir Ian Gibson CBE, Vice-President, Nissan Europe

'Authoritative, accessible and entertaining! Peter Wickens' constant challenges to think anew strike a real chord. His down-to-earth style will enable all executives and managers in all businesses to energise their own enterprise and to excel.' - Simon Lebus, Chairman and Chief Executive, Kitchen Range Foods

'This no-nonsense book shows how to release the creativity, ingenuity, imagination and energy of every person in every enterprise. It has a world-wide market.' - Sir Geoffrey Holland KCB, Vice-Chancellor, University of Exeter

'Leadership, innovation and change. Peter Wickens tackles these provoking issues with originality. His hands-on experience, powerfully communicated, will ensure that those facing the daily challenges in a competitive enterprise create a winning edge.' - Mike Reilly OBE, President, Calsonic International plc

'Written by a pioneer, this book is full of practical guidance for those trying to manage change, and almost carries a 'money-back guarantee' of dramatic improvement.' - Ian Harris OBE, Chairman, Bonas Machine Company Limited

'Refreshingly pragmatic, Peter Wickens' insights cut through the business fads that clutter thinking. He shows how quality leadership creates the environment which unlocks the power of all people. A 'must read'. - Bruce Warman, Director of Personnel, Vauxhall Motors

'Superb! Peter Wickens demystifies the black art of leadership. His lucid and practical style and his balance of theory and practice will generate confidence in abundance for the innovative practitioner.' - Joe Booth, Managing Director, Access to Growth

'This is an excellent book. It's one that will, at most, re-energise all your people, policies, products and enterprise, and, at the very least, give the reader a personal boost.' - People Management

'Peter Wickens not only provides insightful analyses about the state of companies today, but, more important, offers practical solutions through examples of best practice. He gives several examples of companies such as 3M and Wal-Mart that have been successfully re-energised. Rather than reinvent yet another management theory, Wickens' emphasis on getting the individual's and company's values right before all else is what makes this book refreshingly different.' - Supply Management
