About this book
This book is an introductory analysis of pressure group activity in modern industrial societies. It provides comparison and contrast of pressure group politics in both the liberal democratic states of Western Europe and the United States and the socialist political systems of the USSR and Eastern Europe. It embraces the analytical and theoretical aspects of group activity as well as a wide range of case studies dealing with major areas of pressure politics. The book is intended for students at both degree and pre-degree levels and prior knowledge of each of the major political systems is not assumed.
