About the author

PETER STACHURA, Reader in History, University of Stirling, is the author/editor of a dozen books and of numerous articles and reviews on twentieth-century German (particularly the Weimar Republic) and Polish history. A Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, he enjoys an international reputation as a leading authority in these fields. His book Poland between the Wars, 1919-1936, is due to be published by Macmillan in 1998.
