About the authors

Maty Konte is Research Fellow at the United-Nations University (UNU-MERIT), the Netherlands, and Vice President of the NGO Women and Nature International in New York, USA. She has worked with a variety of international organisations and African think tanks. She is interested in policy-relevant research on gender, economic development and institutions.

Nyasha Tirivayi is Research Fellow at the United Nations University (UNU-MERIT), the Netherlands. She has over 15 years of experience in development research and practice. This includes working and consulting for UN agencies, international non-governmental organisations and women’s organisations in Africa. She has published research on women’s health care, HIV/AIDS, social protection and agricultural innovations.
