About the author

Dr. Font is director of the Bildner Center for Western Hemisphere Studies and Professor of Sociology at the Graduate Center and Queens College, CUNY. He has taught at the University of Michigan, Rutgers, University, the University of Brasilia, IUPERJ, and UNESP. His most recent publications include Handbook on Cuban History, Literature, and the Arts (Paradigm, 2014), Handbook of Contemporary Cuba: Economy, Politics, Civil Society, and Globalization (Paradigm, 2013), The Brazilian State: Debate and Agenda (Lexington Books, 2011), and Coffee and Transformation in SĂŁo Paulo, Brazil (Lexington Books, 2010).
