About this book series

This series is dedicated to environmental sociology as a distinct field with emphasis on theoretical grounding, empirical validation, evidence–based research and practical policy application. The series will include studies that focus on state-of-the-art research and an explicit effort to transfer the results into recommendations for policy makers in their quest for a knowledge-driven transformation towards sustainability. The series will incorporate combinations of conceptual analyses with clear applications to environmental policy making and empirical studies that have the potential to inform decision and policy makers from government, public agencies, private business and civil society.
