About this book series

Published in association with the ESRC-funded Centre for Learning and Life Chances in Knowledge Economies and Societies (LLAKES) http://www.llakes.org/ The series brings together innovative, inter-disciplinary research which throws new light on the ways in which learning can contribute to both better economic performance and a more just society. It will provide a platform for research and policy debate on issues that lie at the interface between education, economic competitiveness and social cohesion policy and practice. It will address key issues in contemporary public policy debate in both developed and developing countries, looking at some of the major dilemmas that have arisen for societies as a result of the recent global recession.
