Scope and policy

Asian Business & Management (ABM) is an academic management and business journal with a focus on Asia. The journal covers topics in the areas of corporate governance, human resource management, marketing, organizational behavior, organization theory, strategy, technology management, and related areas. ABM distinguishes itself from general business and management journals as it focuses on the Asian context. The focus on Asia is an important and appealing feature of ABM. ABM is open to different methodological approaches, including quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, and conceptual work, contributing to an enhanced understanding of Asian business and management.

Desk Review

Before manuscripts enter the peer-review process, they will be reviewed by an editorial assistant, the reviewing editor, and the editor-in-chief. ABM has desk-rejected more than 50% of all submissions in the past. To survive the desk-review, please make sure to fully adhere to ABM’s style guidelines and follow common standards in management journals. Submitting a manuscript

Authors should submit papers electronically via the journal's electronic submission system.

The submission system is designed to be self-explanatory but help is available within the submission site via the 'Author Instructions' tab.

Authors should submit a minimum of two files. They should contain the following elements:

1. Author Information File:

  • the title of the article
  • the author(s)' names and affiliations
  • full contact details (including email, postal address and phone and fax numbers) for the corresponding author

2. Article:

  • the title of the article
  • an abstract of not more than 100 - 150 words
  • 5 - 8 keywords
  • the article in full, including references

3. Figures and Tables

Figures and tables may be uploaded either embedded in the main article file or as separate files.
