Papers for The Journal of Transatlantic Studies must be submitted via the direct email to the Editor. We encourage authors to thoroughly read through the following pages before submitting:
The Journal of Transatlantic Studies operates with a Double Blind peer review system. This means that both the author(s) and reviewers’ identities will remain anonymous. Please therefore ensure that authors are only listed on the title page of the submission, and are not included in the main file.
Notes for Contributors
The Journal of Transatlantic Studies is a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary journal that publishes papers that focus on the transatlantic region. Disciplines and areas of study encompassed by the journal include Politics, History, Security Studies and International Relations, Economics, Literature and Culture, Planning and the Environment, Race and Migration. The Journal is supported by The Transatlantic Studies Association.
Articles submitted to the Journal of Transatlantic Studies should be original contributions and should not be derived from existing or planned publications. Articles should not be under consideration for any other publication at the same time. If another version of the article is under consideration by another publication, or has been, or will be published elsewhere, authors should clearly indicate this at the time of submission.
All submissions will normally be reviewed by two anonymous referees and a member of the editorial team. Decisions will normally be made about publication within 6 months of submission.
The standard word length for articles is 6,000 – 10,000 words (including notes and references) but there will be no prejudice against longer articles of 10,000 words and above if quality justifies publication. The article should begin with an indented abstract of around 100 words, which should describe the main arguments and conclusions of the article. Authors should also include 5 keywords representing the major themes of the article, to be provided on a separate sheet of paper.
Please submit two title pages, one with and one without the author’s details on it. Details of the author’s institutional affiliation, full address and other contact information should be included on the cover sheet along with a note on the exact length of the article.
All submissions should be presented electronically as a Word Document email attachment.
Manuscripts and correspondence should be sent to the Editor, Professor Alan Dobson, email@example.com
